Terms of Service

Effective October 28, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Grocery Folks (“Grocery Folks,” “we,” “us”) and govern your use of the Grocery Folks apps and website (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Who can use Grocery Folks

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), a parent or legal guardian must review these Terms and agree to them for you, and is responsible for your use of the Service. AI product images are available only to users 18 and older. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@groceryfolks.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

Families

A family is a shared space. Everything you add to a family — items, notes, photos, and messages — can be seen, changed, or removed by the other members of that family. Only invite people you trust.

• The person who creates a family is its owner. The owner can invite people, approve or decline requests to join, remove members, transfer ownership, and delete the family.
• Deleting a family permanently deletes its list, messages, and photos for everyone.
• Any member can leave a family at any time.

Your content

You keep ownership of the content you add. You give Grocery Folks a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, copy, process, and display your content only as needed to operate the Service for you and your family, including creating AI product images when you turn that feature on.

You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to share it. Don’t upload photos of people who haven’t agreed to share them.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm anyone, or to share content that is unlawful, sexually explicit, hateful, or violent.
• Upload content that infringes someone else’s rights.
• Attempt to access families, accounts, or data that aren’t yours, or probe, scan, or test the Service’s security without our written permission.
• Interfere with the Service, circumvent usage limits, create accounts automatically, or use it to send spam.
• Copy, resell, or reverse engineer the Service except as the law allows.

To report abuse or content that breaks these Terms, email hello@groceryfolks.com. We may remove content or suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.

AI product images

AI product images are optional and created automatically. They may be inaccurate, and they are illustrations, not a guarantee of what a product looks like. Daily limits apply. Don’t rely on them for allergy, dietary, or safety information — always check the actual product label.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Grocery Folks available and your list safe, but the Service may sometimes be unavailable, and features may change. We may change these Terms; if a change is material, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Ending your use

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service; when practical, we will give you notice and a chance to export or copy your list first.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GROCERY FOLKS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT CONTENT WILL NEVER BE LOST.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GROCERY FOLKS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR US $50. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITATIONS, SO THEY MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Grocery Folks against claims arising from your content or your violation of these Terms.

Disputes

If you have a concern, contact us first at hello@groceryfolks.com; most issues can be resolved quickly that way. These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where Grocery Folks is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small-claims court. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

App stores

If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, you also agree to that store’s terms. These Terms are between you and Grocery Folks, not Apple or Google, and Grocery Folks alone is responsible for the app and its content. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you as they relate to the iOS app.

General

These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Grocery Folks about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
